Passage: Numbers 11:24-29, 1 Corinthians 12:3b-13
Hi Everyone:  In previous years we have celebrated the "Birthday of the Church" on this Sunday.  Sounds of wind and flames (usually made from tissue paper) have appeared in church and rested on each of us as symbols of the Spirit's presence.  Some years we heard different languages spoken as they were that Pentecost Day in Jerusalem when the church was born one thousand nine hundred and seventy (or so) years ago.  Gifts of food have been brought to share. Joyous music has risen up to the roof timbers on its way to God. This Sunday, remember Pentecost and bring to mind the many ways that the Holy Spirit has been present in your life and the life of the church. Happy Birthday Church! No matter how solitary or isolated your condition in these days we are all made one in the Spirit. Let that presence lift you up today and fill you with joy that we serve a Risen Saviour and that God loves every one of us.  May that same loving God bless and keep you all and all those you care for wherever in the world they may be.
Peace be with you, Duncan
