Passage: Acts 2:1-21
Greetings Everyone:  I know it's not going to be the usual long May weekend - we may not be able to join loved ones who would have gathered in previous years.  I urge you all to find responsible ways of enjoying this holiday - and watch out for that heat - from arctic to tropical in a couple of weeks. The ministerial (local clergy) met yesterday by Zoom and we exchanged our feelings and ideas about "re-opening".  Feelings were mixed to put it mildly.  I'll be talking about that in future Friday epistles.  The Rev. James Ravenscroft of RH United has accepted a call in St. John's NL.  His husband Glenn is a Newfie - so they are going home, hopefully to stay. We will miss James who has organized and hosted the Longest Night service for the last five years. We now have three women ministers in our group - a first.
This is a very special Sunday: Pentecost - we thank Nancy for the poster of Flames & Dove that you will see behind me if you are watching online. Bill, Roger and Terry are our technical and creative team.  Thank them when you get a chance. Mary Addo has been our reader and Chris Bennett has been helping out with prayer responses. I am looking to you for help in future weeks.  Please call or email me if you can help.  Readers just need a phone to record scriptures - and are not seen.  Prayer helpers are needed at 10:30 on Wednesdays when we record worship.  They appear on the video. As usual - if you are watching worship, please keep this script to follow the service. Remember "the 24th of May is the Queen's birthday - if we don't get a holiday we'll all run away!"
Peace be with you, Duncan
